Amy Adams' Sanity Gets Put Into Question in New 'The Woman in The Window' Trailer
Also starring Julianne Moore and Gary Oldman.
20th Century Fox has released the first trailer for The Woman in the Window, a new thriller starring Amy Adams and directed by Joe Wright. Based on the best-selling novel of the same name, the trailer above features Adams as an agoraphobic neighbor who thinks she’s seen her new friend Jane Russell (played by a blonde Julianne Moore) getting murdered, but nobody in her life believes her. Matters are only made worse when Russell returns (now being played by Jennifer Jason Leigh) with her husband (Gary Oldman) and claims she’s never met Adams in her life.
Although the film wears its influences on its sleeve, especially films like 1954’s Rear Window and more recently 2018’s A Simple Favor, the film appears to be striking and offers a bit more in terms of plot and Adams’ performance. It’s also worth noting the production troubles the film has gone through, with Tracy Letts, who co-stars and wrote the script saying the entire experience “kind of sucked.”
The Woman in the Window opens May 15, 2020, and also stars Anthony Mackie, Wyatt Russell, and Brian Tyree Henry.
In other entertainment news, Elijah Wood’s estranged father may be a murderer in Come to Daddy trailer.
