Alexander McQueen is the latest luxury brand to provide its take on transparent air bubble-infused soles with the release of these leather low-top sneakers featuring the striking design detail. The sneakers’ bold, clear sole is contrasted with a clean, minimal matte black leather upper with thick tonal laces. Silver “Alexander McQueen” branding can be found on the heel, completing the shoe with a luxury seal.
Transparent products have been seen in every industry this year, from speakers to luggage. Various luxury brands have also caught on, releasing their own footwear renditions featuring trend, along with Nike who kickstarted the movement with its various Air Max silhouettes.
In addition to Alexander McQueen, Maison Margiela has also been experimenting with the modern sole. The brand has released three different silhouettes featuring its “Bounce” sole unit within the past two months, including a Tabi boot and patent leather loafers. Its most recent and wildest take on the Bounce sole comes in the form of a bubbly, updated Replica sneaker. Prada even released another version of its own transparent air bubble sole as recently as 2018.
Elsewhere, Nike — the Air originator — recently combined two generations of Air Max technology — the Air VaporMax and Air Max 360 — to create a new Air VaporMax 360 silhouette.
