Nike Introduces Deconstructed Air Force 1 LV8 With Translucent Swoosh Panels
Featuring exposed mesh, foam and debossed proprietary terminology.
Nike‘s iconic Air Force 1 LV8 has been given a deconstructed update, showcasing a host of new elements such as a translucent Swoosh and debossed detailing all around. The new AF1 is effectively Nike’s study of what informs the iconic design.
Design elements of the White/”Sail” sneaker allude to pre-production processing, samples and mock-ups, with the translucent gum outsole sporting the phrase “FULL LENGTH AIR SOLE — A1180” on the bottom. Most prominently, the oversized, translucent Swoosh emblem found on the mid-panels sports section of white stitching covered by a jagged, uncut overlay. Further technical elements come in the form of proprietary debossing on the heel, with stamped in-house phrases such as “2 — FILM AIR” and “DNA — IM5197” gracing the rear-quarter.
Elsewhere, Nike adds off-white-hued sidewalls on the midsole, a suede eyestay to house the complementing off white lacing system, an exposed foam tongue, suede and leather trims at the rear, and exposed mesh mid-sections. Rounding out the unique, DIY-inspired AF1 LV8 model are insoles that inscribed with “PRODUCT CODE — 4090” terminology.
