Maison Margiela Updates Tabi Boot With Clear "Air Bag Heel" Sole

After releasing a 30th-anniversary capsule collection of the Tabi boot in July, Maison Margiela and SSENSE are back with another exclusive edition of the popular silhouette. This version of the model sees the shoe wrapped in premium black leather along the upper, while the addition of a clear air bag heel adds a modernized foundation.
The latest boot is one of the more minimalistic takes on the signature split-toe design, stripping away the paint splatter and distressed suede options of some of its previous counterparts. Its shiny patent upper is offset by the transparent rubber midsole, while tonal branding on the heel calls out the style’s specific footwear line, “22.” Tan-colored lining rounds out the details with a polished interior finish.
