Quando Rondo Enlists Polo G for New 'QPac' Visual & Single "Marvelous"
Our latest preview of his ‘From the Neighborhood to the Stage’ follow-up.
This past May, Georgia star-in-the-making Quando Rondo served up his most recent studio project, From the Neighborhood to the Stage. Preparing listeners for the full-length follow-up to that LP, the YoungBoy affiliate is teaming up with Polo G for the Tahj Money- and TnTXD-produced “Marvelous,” the new visual and single in support of his forthcoming QPac album.
“Now we champions, I beat them odds so impressively / We was grindin’ early, yeah, I’m hustlin’, we don’t ever sleep / If that boy was leechin’, then I left him in the back,” Polo G raps on “Marvelous.” “That gang shit a joke, n***a, all you got is family / No pops at home, the hood raised him, all he know is savagery / Ain’t no fairy tales up in these streets, shit don’t end happily / We been scorin’ back and forth, we seen so many casualties / Pain, it turn me ruthless, thuggin’ harder than I had to be.”
“I used to just freestyle … the melody comes to me first,” Quando Rondo explained to Passion of the Weiss during a 2018 interview, sharing a rare insight into his creative process. “I really don’t write though. I get a beat, and I just freestyle. I freestyle, write a little bit, freestyle, think about it, write a little bit … It’s based on keys. Those fruity sounds. I don’t really know about the beats, but it be the sounds I been looking for.”
