Netflix Shares Final Trailer for Martin Scorsese’s 'The Irishman'
Showcasing several high-praising reviews in the process.
Netflix has shared the final trailer for Martin Scorsese‘s critically acclaimed upcoming film The Irishman, starring Robert De Niro, Al Pacino, and Joe Pesci.
The 3-hour 28-minute feature will tell the epic story of World War II veteran Frank Sheeran (De Niro) and his time working with notorious figures in the world of organized crime in post-war America. The film will span the decades, covering events such as the disappearance of legendary union boss Jimmy Hoffa (Al Pacino), and organized crime’s inner workings into politics.
This film has gone through a tumultuous journey, as director Scorsese has shopped it around several studios before Netflix stepped in and acquired the rights. However, because the streaming service continuously releases films while they’re still in theaters, cinema chains began intentionally delaying discussions for The Irishman‘s theatrical release.
It finally secured a limited theatrical release in order to contend for Oscar consideration and made history by becoming the first film to have a limited run at a Broadway venue.
Check out the trailer above and catch The Irishman in select theaters and on Netflix on November 27.
