Mark Wahlberg Joins Tom Holland in Upcoming 'Uncharted' Movie
Playing the role of Nathan Drake’s mentor, Victor “Sully” Sullivan.

Mark Wahlberg has been cast in Sony‘s long-awaited Uncharted movie, starring in the video game adaptation alongside Spider-Man mainstay Tom Holland.
According to reports, Wahlberg will be playing the role of Victor “Sully” Sullivan, a treasure hunter who becomes the mentor of main character Nathan Drake (Holland). Within the game’s lore, the two characters meet in 1991 while Sully was on an assignment to steal jewels in Colombia, with Sully saving a teenage Drake from a group of thugs. They form a decades-long friendship as Sully teaches Drake his ways, becoming a father figure to the young runaway.
Prior to Holland’s casting, Wahlberg was actually in talks to play the role of Drake. Evidently, that never came to fruition as Holland gained the role following the film losing a number of directors, but it seems like Uncharted will continue moving forward with its current director, Travis Knight (Bumblebee and Kubo and the Two Strings). The film adaptation is set to arrive in late 2020.
In other entertainment news, Andy Serkis has been confirmed to play Alfred Pennyworth in Matt Reeves’ The Batman.
