'The Batman' Director Confirms Andy Serkis as Alfred Pennyworth (UPDATE)
Joining the cast with Robert Pattinson & Zoë Kravitz.
UPDATE (November 14, 2019): The Batman director Matt Reeves has confirmed one out of three casting rumors. Taking to Twitter to confirm the news, Reeves posted a GIF of Andy Serkis running down a red carpet and giving out high fives with the caption, “And here comes #Alfred!”
Serkis is the first out of three possible castings to be officially confirmed, with news of Colin Farrell as Penguin and Matthew McConaughey as Harvey Dent still under wraps.

ORIGINAL STORY (November 6, 2019): After casting Zoë Kravitz as Selina Kyle, Jeffrey Wright as Commissioner Gordon and Paul Danno as Riddler, Matt Reeves is now looking to enlist Colin Farrell, Andy Serkis and Matthew McConaughey for his upcoming The Batman revamp.
Potentially joining star Robert Pattinson, Serkis is being eyed to take on the role of Bruce Wayne’s trusted butler Alfred Pennyworth while McConaughey for the role of Gotham City District Attorney, Harvey Dent. While Colin Farrell is currently in talks to reimagine the role of Oswald Chesterfield Cobblepot better known as Penguin for the big screen. Reports are noting that Harvey Dent will serve as an upstanding member of Gotham’s legal system and experience his fall into crime in a sequel.
