UPDATE (November 4, 2019): The latest trailer for the upcoming Pokémon series showcases footage from its first episode entitled “Birth of Pikachu.” It reveals the first days of Ash’s Pikachu as a Pichu before evolving and ultimately meeting his trainer. The visuals above also feature Pikachu and fellow protagonist Go’s Pokémon Scorbunny in the middle of a battle.

The synopsis of the episode reads: “In a forest somewhere in Kanto, there once was a lonely Pichu. This Pichu – who was still quite young – had a certain encounter and farewell. This took place shortly before Ash and his partner Pikachu started traveling together. This is the beginning of the anime “Pocket Monster.”

ORIGINAL STORY (October 2, 2019): Following Ash Ketchum’s Pokémon League championship win, the end of the Pokémon: Sun & Moon TV series will introduce a second protagonist to explore a whole new generation of Pocket Monsters.

Picking up after the current storyline, the upcoming arc will chronicle the adventures of Ash and a new character named Go. Although not much is known about Go, a video clip introducing him and the new series reveals his companion Pokémon will be the new-generation Fire-type Scorbunny. We also learned that instead of looking to conquer the Pokémon league, Go aims to “catch every Pokémon there is” which should lead to some interesting explorations of the new Galar region.

For more entertainment news, Jonah Hill is reportedly being eyed to play the villain in Robert Pattinson’s The Batman.
