After debuting the new Jordan Proto-React silhouette last year, the sportswear brand has followed up with the model’s updated counterpart, the Proto-React Z. Boasting a sleek upper with a zippered compartment (hence the “Z” add-on), the sneaker is inspired by spacesuits to give off a futuristic aesthetic.

Jordan has opted for a bold triple red take for one of the first releases of the style, which stacks on eye-catching layers of “Bright Dark Red,” “University Red” and “Team Red.” The shoe features a distinctive asymmetrical shell that’s marked by skewer zippers, while “JUMPMAN” and other Jordan insignia line the nylon casing. Another fastener gets added to the heel, where a velcro strap offers a snug fit. The chunky sole rounds it all off, while responsive cushioning ensures a lightweight feel.

The Jordan Proto-React Z “Bright Dark Red/University Red/Team Red” is priced at ¥1,199 RMB (approximately $160 USD) and is available to shop now at Nike China’s webstore.

Elsewhere, the brand recently released a crisp “Eclipse” colorway of the Air Jordan 34.
