Roby Dwi Antono Unveils New Surrealist Paintings for Frankfurt Group Exhibition
Titled “To See For Oneself.”
Emerging Indonesian artist Roby Dwi Antono recently participated in a group exhibition during the Discovery Art Fair in Frankfurt, Germany. The convention, dedicated to showcasing work by rising artists across the globe, features a number of curated booths. Dwi Antono was tapped by Galerie Stephanie to display a selection of new original paintings that portray his signature, childlike subjects and surrealist motifs. Dwi Antono alongisde Brazilian artist Ciane Xavier and Filipino artist Dexter Sy had showcased pieces during the fair earlier this month.
“The synergy of the works of these three artists manifests the delays and anticipations that not only the youth but the totality of the current societal generation belabors in terms of visual culture: We all have the capacity to create new histories based on how we choose our fragments,” said the gallery in a statement.
