Unlike that previous collection, however, the new PUMA range swaps GORE-TEX lining for ’90s-inspired patterns. The jacket, trousers and sneaker uppers are crafted from sturdy nylon ripstop, lending the shiny black textile a familiar gridlike pattern in the process. Stark blue accents inform the PUMA logos, zipper plackets, pull tabs and lining of each item, with the CELL Ultra sneakers boasting matching hues on the outsole and sockliner. Along with the blue air cushion in the heel, the shoes also sport tonal black leather on the uppers to match the muted rubber midsoles.
Expect the bespoke PUMA items to hit BEAMS’ web store and Japanese outposts in December.
