The North Face Urban Exploration Launches Expansive FW19 Collections
“The Archives, Reimagined” includes reworked Nuptses and new Kazuki Kuraishi.

The North Face has prepared an expansive array of Urban Exploration items for Fall/Winter 2019; so many, in fact, that the sub-label is issuing the collection in four distinct drops. Rolling out through winter, fans can mark their calendars for “The Archives, Reimagined” capsules inspired by a singular theme from The North Face’s archives.
“NUPTSE,” “STEEP TECH,” and “TECH WOOL” revamp the eponymous North Face tech they’re named after, while the final capsule is a follow-up to Kazuki Kuraishi’s own “The Archives, Reimagined” capsule. Kicking things off is the “NUPTSE” range, which transforms the iconic puffer into new forms, like a long coat and fur-trimmed jacket, with menswear and womenswear offerings available in muted monochrome or bold red. Meanwhile, Kazuki Kuraishi’s latest range boasts rich metallic tones that inform the jackets, liners and high-necked velour pullovers.
Elsewhere, the “STEEP TECH” offering yields cargo-pocketed coats and shirts, with angled zippers and misplaced plackets lending the goods a futuristic edge, underlined by the sophisticated black, white and olive color palette. Rounding out the quartet is the “TECH WOOL” selection, which encompasses trim black, grey and white coats and puffer jackets, laden with hefty zippers and reinforced hoods.
Each capsule has a different release date: “NUPTSE” drops on October 21, Kazuki Kuraishi’s second drop goes down on November 4, “STEEP TECH” launches November 18 and “TECH WOOL” emerges on December 2.
Most recently, The North Face introduced its heavy-duty “7 Summits” collection.
