SAINTWOODS has returned with its SW008 collection, following up its former SW007 lineup that released just last May. The Montreal-based imprint was founded by Nathan Gannage and Zach Macklovitch, who this season, have drawn cues from various inside jokes and tongue-in-cheek references shared between close friends from their hometown – Toronto and Montreal, Canada.
The assemblage is packed with casual staples glossing a series of graphic tees, hoodies, sweaters, shorts, a bathrobe and a variety of accessories like a hat, tote bag, tray and sticker set. From retro-tinged graphic tees to minimal sweaters, the range is expansive, encompassing both vibrant colors and muted styles, and each silhouette has been tweaked slightly to give a comfortable oversized cut.
One noteworthy piece is the reversible T-shirt. One side displays an illustration of a bunny wearing an “SW”-branded sweater, the reverse is emblazoned with an arched “SAINTWOODS” logo above the words “A NORMAL DAY AT THE OFFICE.” Another tee is one that has “I Survived Saint Laurent” printed across the front — referencing Montreal’s local St Laurent Blvd, a historic hub for nightlife where the label regularly hosts parties at three of its spaces. Other pieces like the ventilated “More Heat” shorts, SW Robe (made from Turkish cotton) and essential sweats round up the collection.
The SAINTWOODS SW008 collection will see an initial release at its pop up in Montreal on October 25, followed by a global launch at saintwoods.com on October 28.
