Shinsuke Takizawa Teases NEIGHBORHOOD x 'Breaking Bad' Collaboration
Highlighting one of the TV show’s recurring motifs.

As Breaking Bad’s Jesse Pinkman (Aaron Paul) returns for Netflix’s El Camino: A Breaking Bad Movie, Shinsuke Takizawa took to Instagram to tease a possible collaboration between NEIGHBORHOOD and Vince Gilligan’s beloved TV series. The brand founder’s uploaded image mainly focuses on the NEIGHBORHOOD and Breaking Bad tags, but also shows a pink teddy bear placed inside an evidence bag in the background.
For those unfamiliar, the stuffed toy is a recurring motif in Breaking Bad and was part of the falling wreckage from the Wayfarer 515 aerial disaster. It lands in Walter White’s (Bryan Cranston) backyard pool when the plane explodes and sustains a burn on its left side and loses its left eye. The bear gets fished out by authorities later on, but Heisenberg keeps the left eye after finding it at the bottom of the pool.
Speculations of the bear’s symbolism include the loss of innocence or a foreshadowing of Gus Fring’s death in Season 4, however neither the actors nor the showrunners have actually confirmed its meaning.
The NEIGHBORHOOD x Breaking Bad collaboration is expected to globally launch November 2019. Stay tuned for more imagery and pricing details.
