Russell Westbrook & Acne Studios Deliver Denim Workwear for FW19

Houston Rockets‘ point guard Russell Westbrook is the latest collaborator to work with Acne Studios, releasing a capsule collection comprised of workwear-indebted denim pieces.

The collection follows Westbrook’s star appearance in Acne Studios’ Spring/Summer 2019 lookbook. For FW19, Westbook and the Swedish label come together to create a capsule that reflects both the NBA player’s off-court style and the imprint’s distinctive aesthetic.

Using colors such as light blue acid wash denim, teal green acid wash denim, white and black, the capsule delivers a minimalist approach to workwear through its half-zip jackets, utility vests and short-sleeve shirts. The duo has given the half-zip jacket a large patch pocket on the front and a drawstring hem, while the vest sports oversized pockets on the front and piping along the seams.

For a nod to Westbrook’s sporting heritage, Acne Studios has given the shirt a distinctive wide placket all the way down the middle, taking inspiration from NBA warmup shirts. Straight leg jeans and the aforementioned shorts round out this collaborative capsule.
