Reebok by Pyer Moss "Collection Three" Launches Graphic Apparel and New Footwear
The Experiment Four sneaker anchors the African-inspired range.
First seen during the New York brand’s latest runway presentation, the first array of items from Pyer Moss‘ new Reebok offering is set to hit stores soon. Encompassing a host of wearables, accessories and footwear, the drop blends Pyer Moss’ recognizable style cues with Reebok’s signature sporty garments.
Inspiration comes by way of “Sakofa,” a Twi word from the Akan tribe in Ghana that translates to “Go back and get it,” represented in the range by stylized graphics showing a bird fetching an egg from its back. Sankofa represents the concept of reclaiming the history of one’s own past, which is also the driving conceit in the collection’s “American, Also” campaign wherein marginalized peoples make their claim on that which they rightfully own from history.
Anchored by the new Experiment 4 Trail Fury sneaker, the color-blocked selection encompasses an array of matching sets, with track jackets, pullovers, hoodies complemented by pants that boast identical prints. Black and white base shades are elevated by the rich green, blue, red and yellow imagery, which blends Reebok logos with the aforementioned Ghana-inspired bird and verbiage like “AS USA AS U.” Oversized drawstrings yield co-branding that accompanies the accessories, like logo-rich beanies, caps, socks and leather-trimmed gloves.
All the Reebok by Pyer Moss Collection 3 goods — menswear, womenswear, footwear and accessories — launch November 2 on Reebok’s web store. The next release, dubbed Collection 3.5, will premiere in Spring 2020.
