Official Images of Nike's Patent Leather Air Jordan 1 "Fearless"

Part of the eagerly-awaited Air Jordan 1 “Fearless Ones” collection launching in late 2019, the Air Jordan 1 “Fearless” is anything but understated. Bold panels of single-tone patent leather ensure the shoe’s upper makes an unmistakable impression, with more subtle details tying in with the speech Michael Jordan gave during his inauguration into the Basketball Hall of Fame in 2009.

Drawing from the first three patent leather colorways of the Air Jordan 1, the “Fearless” silhouette sports “University Blue” accents towards the rear and ankle, with “Gym Red” tones on the vamp and toebox. A mixture of black and gold accent the jeweled wings logo on the ankle, while white and black touches elsewhere offer a comparatively understated facade. The ending of Jordan’s inauguration speech — which includes the line “Limits, like fears, are often just an illusion — is printed on the insole, beneath a large, crossed-out “FEAR.”
