As fall’s cold embrace begins to wrap the country in earnest, New Balance is rolling out a full slate of autumnal heritage silhouettes, one of which is this New Balance 991 “Camo Pack.”
Featuring a truly season-appropriate earth-toned palette of blacks, browns and tans, these 991s combine sturdy textiles, soft suede and supple leather on their layered upper for a luxurious look. “CMXCI” is embroidered on the tongue — a clever detail that sharp-eyed sneaker lovers may realize is the Roman numeral styling for “991” — and much more readily apparent NB hits are present on the midfoot and heel as well.
Down below, a two-tone ABZORB midsole split between grey on the heel and white on the forefoot provides classic comfort. The outsole then offers the shoe with its moniker, thanks to a rich all-over camo print that cleverly works “N” logos into its traction pattern. A special silver dog tag-style badge rounds things off.
A release date hasn’t yet been announced for these elegant 991s, but you can expect them at retailers like 43einhalb this fall for € 189.95 EUR (approximately $208 USD). Furthermore, considering the retailer and dog-tag have given this sneaker a nickname of “Camo Pack,” it’s safe to say we’ll see some additional colorways with this style in mind.
In other NB news, they’re rewarding runners in New York with free slices of pizza.
