nanamica Opens Material-Driven Tokyo Flagship Store
Marking the Japanese brand’s first flagship location in Tokyo.
nanamica has recently opened the doors to a new flagship store in Tokyo. With an aim to appeal to its Japanese fans as well as overseas enthusiasts, the new store is located in the Daikanyama district of Shibuya, which often referred to as the “Brooklyn of Tokyo.”
The design of the store stays true to Japan’s design heritage through a clean textured brick exterior and an interior that focuses on showcasing products above all else. Glass shelving units make folded T-shirts and accessories stand out, while minimal clothing racks create an organized display for the store’s latest offerings. Wood floors and detailing throughout the store paired with plants adds a natural touch to the space. A large glass case in the front highlights season-appropriate featured product, such as the GORE-TEX jackets shown in the image above.
True to the nanamica’s aesthetic and origins, the store carries a classic, natural feel throughout and makes use of materials it says are inspired by the ocean. nanamica plans to make this store its hub from which it can effectively communicate its message “One ocean, all lands.”
