Summary

PUBLIC TOKYO opened its Meiji Dori flagship in Jingumae, featuring shrine-inspired architectural design elements.

The boutique centers on an interior sanctuary layout accented by traditional lattice and lanterns.

Exclusive launch items include Kimono-sleeve tees and wide Hakama-inspired triple-tack pants.

PUBLIC TOKYO, the high‑end casual brand under TOKYO BASE, has opened its first standalone flagship store in Jingumae, Shibuya. Positioned along Meiji‑dori, the 300-square-meter space is conceived as a cultural hub where Japanese aesthetics meet Tokyo’s modern sensibility. The interior draws inspiration from traditional shrines, featuring a central structure reminiscent of a shaden, with design elements such as kagura bells, saisen boxes, lattices and lanterns reinterpreted in a contemporary style. Materials evoking wood and washi paper emphasize craftsmanship, while the overall design reflects PUBLIC TOKYO’s ethos of merging heritage with refined urban casualwear.

To mark the opening, the store introduces exclusive limited‑edition items crafted from innovative linen‑like polyester blends, offering natural texture, wrinkle resistance, and stretch comfort. Highlights include the Butcher Linen Drawstring Shirt with adjustable silhouette, paired with Drape Easy Pants for a relaxed yet elegant look, and the Kimono Sleeve Tee with Triple‑Tuck Wide Pants, which reinterpret traditional Japanese garments into modern daily wear. These men’s and women’s sets embody PUBLIC TOKYO’s “ALL MADE IN JAPAN” philosophy, reinforcing its commitment to quality and design.
