Chevrolet Goes Drop-Top With New 2020 Corvette
The first-ever production retractable hardtop Corvette.
After 67 years on the market, the Chevrolet Corvette has solidified itself as a North American household name. This latest iteration of the 2020 Chevrolet Corvette looks to redefine the iconic supercar while keeping its sports pedigree.
On top of being the first Corvette to be built with a mid-engine layout, this redesigned ‘Vette will see its first-ever production retractable hardtop. The hardtop convertible keeps performance high as it has been seamlessly integrated in the body of the car and packs six electric motors that help the roof operate during unforeseen weather conditions. The roof is also able to activate at speeds up to 30 mph and is available in a contrasting Carbon Flash version or in the same color as the body.
The convertible will be available in three trims – 1LT, 2LT and 3LT — each seeing more refined interior options; the price tag will start at $67,495 USD for the 1LT, up to $78,945 USD for the 3LT trim. Each Corvette will pack the 495-hp/470 lb-ft 6.2L LT2 V8 engine. For more info, head over to Chevrolet’s page.
