Chemist Creation's Laboratory-Ready ASICS GEL-KAYANO 5 OG "Marshmallow" Drops Soon
Featuring embroidered branding & text-covered panels.
ASICS has enlisted the Los Angeles-based C2H4 umbrella company Chemist Creations for its latest collaborative GEL-KAYANO 5 OG.
Following in the footsteps of Ronnie Fieg and GmbH, Chemist Creations lends its minimalist and industrial-tinged touch to the retro sneaker to deliver a clean laboratory-inspired look. This iteration is dubbed “Marshmallow” as it sports a cream and “Feather Grey” leather and nubuck body, with hints of tan hitting the tongue, lace loops and the dual-branded footbeds.
Chemist Creations previously teased a grey GEL-KAYANO 5 OG with accents of blue and 3M detailing, which released alongside a capsule collection of apparel. The capsule collection featured “CHEMIST” and “化學製品” (chemicals) branding throughout, and this same motif is carried over into the upcoming “Marshmallow” sneaker, seen on the heel tabs and media rear-quarter.
Words are printed on the mid-panel underlay, which is hidden beneath transparent panels and ASICS’ signature lateral-side branding. Rounding off the collaborative pair is a GEL sole unit with an exposed window at the rear and a set of tonal laces.
The Chemist Creations x ASICS GEL-KAYANO 5 OG “Marshmallow” will release on October 20 for £155 GBP (approx. $190 USD) via retailers such as Sneakersnstuff.
