Kevin Gates Drops First Post-Prison Solo Album, 'Luca Brasi 3'

Nine months after wrapping up a prison bid, rapper Kevin Gates serves up his first solo full-length project since regaining his freedom, Luca Brasi 3.

Made up of 18 new tracks, Kevin Gates’ expansive new project unfolds like an audio-book version of his personal diary; plenty of trials and tribulations are given the spotlight, and Gates — like he usually does — bares his soul and wears his heart on his sleeve.

“I’ve been gone a year-and-a-half, so it’s a lot of things that I didn’t really speak on that I get to speak on now,” Gates shares via a press statement. “And there’s a lot of things on Luca Brasi 1 and 2 I couldn’t speak about because I was dealing with it at the time.”

Notably, Kevin Gates’ Luca Brasi 3 has been supported by recent singles such as “Adding Up” and this summer’s surprise Chained to the City EP. The 32-year-old superstar has also promoted the effort by cooking up a collaborative EP with fellow Louisiana superstar YoungBoy Never Broke Again.
