Last week at the VMA’s, Kendrick Lamar performed a medley of songs accompanied by some pyrotechnics that lit the stage on fire. Featuring stunts where dancers were engulfed in flames and ninjas scaled a wall of fire, Lamar and Dave Free reveal in a post-show interview that parts of this performance was intended for the DAMN. tour itself. The two explain how they were unable to use the concept on the road due to restrictions by insurance — but thanks to MTV, Lamar and his camp were able to pull off the performance they envisioned. Check out the MTV video above for the full story.
