Solange's New Art Project Involves Site-Specific Live Performances
Experience “Scales” in real life.
Solange took to Instagram to announce her latest project, a site-specific performance art piece called “Scales”. Located at the Chianti Foundation, an art gallery in Marfa, Texas, the performance will take place on October 8. Solange expands on the significance of the outdoor site hosting her performance:
“Donald Judd’s “15 untitled works in concrete” has had such profound influence on the way I view the world, and I am beyond honored to deliver a site specific version of my performance piece, “Scales” (2017) alongside these phenomenal installations during @chinatifoundation weekend.”
Solange has previously brought art installations to life, with the accompanying performance piece for A Seat at the Table, “An Ode To” debuting at The Guggenheim earlier this year. Each performance takes place in some kind of museum exhibitions, playing with the idea of creating a safe space for activism through creative expression.
