Over the last few weeks, Jordan Brand enthusiasts and sneakerheads alike — especially those from New York — have shown massive amounts of support for Nigel Sylvester and his upcoming Air Jordan 1 collaborative release. Mobs showed out last weekend when the Queens native linked with Nike’s SNKRS App to lead lucky winners on an adventure from location to location for a chance to snag the model ahead of this weekend’s official drop on September 1.
After all of the commotion, the GO series star sat down with us to chat about the process of making a childhood dream come true. We also get a look at some of the biking beaters that have inspired his AJ1 (pictured above), adding a bit of context to the discussion below, where he breaks down the sneaker’s various design elements.
