maharishi Explores Internet Surveillance in FW18 Lookbook
Fusing glitch art with motifs of mythical beasts.
Trailing behind its New York City-inspired capsule is maharishi‘s striking new lookbook for the Fall/Winter 2018 season. With the range centering upon the topic of cybersecurity, the London-based label aims to investigate the dichotomy between freedom and security in today’s Internet age. For instance, computer glitch art is a prevalent motif across the cold-season selection that is beautifully juxtaposed with motifs of mythical beasts such as dragon-headed snakes inspired by the Greek chimera and ancient Japanese artworks.
As far as silhouettes are concerned, a relaxed batch of vintage military jackets, bombers, liners, kimonos, alongside diverse accessories. Highlights include long coats and matching trousers crafted using 3-ply Italian nylon fleece developed by Italian mill Majocchi, down kimono jackets with color-blocking details, patchwork blousons, all-over graphic hoodies, tonal black tracksuits with contrasting visuals on lateral portions, and tapered pants with stitching details.
