SELF MADE SS19 Updates Retro Sportswear With Sketches
Plenty of doodled graphics.

Gianfranco Villegas’s SELF MADE returns for Spring/Summer 2019 with a selection of sportswear layers and scrawled graphics. Retro influence can be felt in the loose cuts and throwback graphics, but multipocketed vests and updated fabrics keep the collection current.
Subtler accents grant moodier items colorful contrast, with red studs accenting a black trucker jacket and illustrative white scribbles appearing on a dark belt. A collaborative Sergio Tacchini tracksuit blends the scribbling with colorblocking, elevating the sports gear with a modern twist — the Tacchini “T” logo also appears on a relaxed polo shirt and sweatsuit. The brand’s signature doodle-style graphics are executed in embroidery and print, offering a hand-drawn appearance due to its illustrative detailing, like crossed-out letters and sketched boxes. A leather bomber and oversized parka ensure the silhouettes keep in line with the ’90s influence, Furthered by contrast stitch denim, oversized work shirts and plenty of oversized tees.
Elsewhere at Paris Fashion Week, we saw seasonal collections from sulvam, Jacquemus and Sankuanz.
