HUGO Mixed Huge Logos & Clunky Runners for SS19
A contemporary blend of sportswear & tailoring.
For Spring/Summer 2019, Hugo Boss’s premium HUGO label took to the runway at Berlin Fashion Week to showcase its latest collection, dubbed “Mixmasters.” The influence of Berlin’s techno scene was evident in the sportswear and suiting fusion, with double-breasted blazers juxtaposed against quarter zip track jackets and ultra-tight activewear. Lycra cycling shorts were juxtaposed with technical silk shirts, while wool tailoring offered bright yellow mesh lining and matching pops of color. Bold hues — including shocking pink and neon orange — pervaded the collection along with plentiful “HUGO” branding; the text appeared as a chaotic graphic, keychain accessory and T-shirt print. Washed denim yielded similar bright tones, lending the collection a workwear edge that played against the functional fabrics and accessories, which included harnesses, shoulder bags, bucket hats and plenty of chunky running shoes.
