Drake Ties Michael Jackson Chart Record
Drizzy reaches another milestone.
Another week, another legendary record for the Toronto rapper. Once again, Drake has the #1 album and # 1 song in the country. At this rate, it’s not surprising anymore but on this particular week, having Views and “One Dance” lead their respective charts at the same time for as long as they have puts Drake in a new space – he’s now tied with Michael Jackson as the only two male artists in Billboard history to concurrently have the No. 1 song and album for a whopping seven consecutive weeks. As it stands, Views has been #1 for nine straight weeks, while “One Dance” has sat on top of the Hot 100 for eight nonconsecutive weeks (he was dethroned by Justin Timberlake), and now seven straight. Michael Jackson had the #1 song and album seven weeks in 1983 with Thriller and “Billie Jean.” Congrats to Drake on a monster year.
