The Shoe Surgeon Reveals an Old Spice Inspired Custom Air Jordan 3
Along with a matching dopp kit.
On the heels of his “Homage to Home” Air Jordan 1, master customizer Dominic Chambrone, aka The Shoe Surgeon reveals his latest work, which takes the form of an Old Spice-inspired black, red and gold Nike Air Jordan 3 alongside a leather dopp kit which mirrors the sneaker’s color scheme.
With Dominic constantly on the road working on collaborations and ramping up his class offering, this two-piece project draws references from the red and gold packaging of his on-the-go essential, Old Spice hair products, and his favorite Nike colorways. The sneaker uses black Horween leather in the upper paired with red cement detailing at the heel and toe for a classic Jordan 3 combination, while perforated leather at the collar and on the tongue reveal gold undertones. A Shoe Surgeon logo stamped on the tongue and a gold Nike Air applied to the heel completes the package, creating a sneaker that is both wearable, and as one can expect from The Shoe Surgeon, of extremely high quality. The dopp kit furthers the travel ties — giving Dom a stylish place to store his products and tools of the trade. Not to mention, hold his grooming material, like his OS Pomade, which he uses to hold his hair back and give him a clean, smooth cut look. The aesthetics mirror the sneaker’s primary use of black, with a touch of gold in the zipper and logo, and when, when the bag is opened, it reveals a metallic lining.
