Manchester United’s Romelu Lukaku Reportedly Signs Largest Ever PUMA Deal
After a year without a sponsor.

Manchester United and Belgium forward Romelu Lukaku has signed an endorsement deal with PUMA, which is reportedly the largest deal in the German company’s history. Prior to this deal, Lukaku had been signed to Nike although for the last year he has had no sportswear partner. This lead his manager José Mourinho to suggest that “he needs a brand to give him the right boots and pay him the right money so he goes back to scoring” last season.
The past season has seen Lukaku — the most expensive striker in the Premier League — in discussions with both Nike and adidas, before opting for PUMA. Announcing his decision in a mocked-up album cover, Lukaku revealed that he was “looking forward to working with a brand committed to aiding me achieve success.” Earlier this year, Lukaku also became the first Premier League player to join JAY-Z’s Roc Nation Sports.
