MF DOOM, Freddie Gibbs & DJ Muggs Unite for "Death Wish"
Off the new ‘Assassination Day’ LP.
Following up last year’s Gems From the Equinox project with Meyhem Lauren, Los Angeles legend DJ Muggs has introduced his next major collaboration.
Teaming up with the elusive MF DOOM, DJ Muggs has cooked up a two-track project, which will be released on its own next Friday, June 29 and as part of DJ Muggs’ forthcoming concept album Assassination Day. Assassination Day is billed as a “thematic album with a vigilante concept where hip-hop takes corruption head-on, figuratively killing off powerful evildoers in positions of power as the story unfolds.” To promote the aforementioned drops and deliver a new single, Muggs connects with DOOM — who dropped a new posse cut earlier this month — and Freddie Gibbs for the intense “Deathwish.”
You can stream DJ Muggs, DOOM and Freddie Gibbs’ “Death Wish” above. While Assassination Day is scheduled to see release on August 3, Muggs is planning to drop two-song “chapters” as part of its promotional campaign — which also involves a unique, exclusive merchandise line. Earlier today, Freddie Gibbs dropped off his latest solo project, Freddie.
