Iron Man & Captain America Almost Shared a Scene in 'Avengers: Infinity War'
They have some unfinished business.

Avengers: Infinity War screenwriters Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely spoke in a recent interview about writing Marvel‘s newest blockbuster hit, where they revealed Captain America and Iron Man almost shared a scene.
As previous screenwriters for Civil War, the two acknowledged that the character arcs of the heroes were planned to continue in Infinity War. However, after many rough drafts and shifting plot points, they decided to scrap the idea entirely.
McFeely explains:
Our first sort of wonky draft [had] the idea that they had to get back in the same room together and deal with that. [But it] meant that you’re slowing down your Thanos [Infinity] Stones [quest] to deal with other threats from other movies. And that became, as much as we wanted to do, and as many times as we wrote those scenes, it became clear that this movie needed to be propulsive and be about Thanos and what he represented to the Avengers.
The duo reveal more in the interview below, where they also touch upon Spider-Man and how he was close to fulfilling a different role in Infinity War.
