UPDATE: A member of Balenciaga’s team has confirmed to HYPEBEAST that this new Triple S design is fake.

After the original version and a subsequent stripped back take on the silhouette, Balenciaga has reportedly returned to its infamous Triple S sneaker for a new update. According to leaked images, the shoe will keep its oversized sole unit, and will feature a pared back, one color upper — rather than the usual two-tone effect.

The stand-out different is the repeated Balenciaga print that appears on either side of the ankle. The only colorway to emerge so far is an understated monochrome offering, with a predominantly black upper, white detailing and a black and white midsole sitting atop a classic gum sole. There’s no news yet on when, or if, the third generation Triple S will get a release date, but keep checking back for more information.

In less positive news for Balenciaga, the label has issued a second apology over the treatment of Chinese customers at a French store.
