Japanese illustrator Yu Nagaba teams up with megaretailer BEAMS and watchmaker G-SHOCK for a capsule collection commemorating G-SHOCK’s 35th anniversary. The drop centers around Nagaba’s interpretations of iconic CASIO branding and designs, with muted colors granting the artwork the focus.

A G-SHOCK DW-5600 serves as the base of the release, with the usual faceplate detailing replaced by Nagaba’s hand drawn reinterpretations. Ensconced in a case bearing a variety of the artist’s illustrations, the watch’s tonal white colorway is reflected in the simple colors seen throughout the range. Black and white T-shirts feature drawings playing off of watch faces — Nagaba’s doodled take on the DW-5600 watch face appears on one shirt while a G-SHOCK with a human face is emblazoned on the other. A pair of contrasting socks and a black cap round out the collection, all bearing the artist’s comical designs.

Shop the items on BEAMS’s web store when they drop on March 2. G-SHOCK has issued a spate of collaborations for its 35th anniversary, ranging from SBTG’s camouflage DW-5600 to PORTER’s bold DW-6900.
