Casio & SBTG Utilize Military Green & Camo for DW-5600 Capsule
Celebrating G-SHOCK’s 35th anniversary.
After reconnecting with PORTER for an orange DW-6900 and re-releasing the G-SHOCK DW-5750E, Casio partners with Singaporean sneaker customizer and retailer SBTG‘s Mark Ong — or, Mr. Sabotage — for its latest effort.
Coming to us just a few months before Casio’s 35th anniversary, Casio and SBTG’s G-SHOCK DW-5600 collaboration embodies Mark Ong’s approach to creation and design, which emphasizes the artisanal processes behind the products. Ong believes the DW-5600 is the ideal canvas to bring his vision of craftsmanship to life, and has a great deal of admiration for its place among G-SHOCK’s lineup. The end result of the collaborative work: a matte military green watch with SBTG’s renowned leopard camouflage style. SBTG’s G-SHOCK collaboration also pays tribute to the brand’s original pieces, employing bull bar wire frame protectors for the area surrounding the watch’s LCD display.
Besides the centerpiece of Casio and SBTG’s collaborative run, the capsule also comes with T-shirts, headwear and skateboard decks that fall in line with the range’s aesthetics and themes. Retailers in Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand and Indonesia will begin to sell the collection’s products on February 3, while a worldwide release is planned for February 12. Prices for the items range from $249 SGD (approximately $190 USD) for the watch to $499 SGD (approximately $380 USD) for the entire watch, tee, hat and deck package.
Late last year, SBTG teamed up with atmos and UNDONE for a new spin on the Air Force 1 High.
