Listen to Thom Yorke's Score Over rag & bone's Inside Look of "Why Can’t We Get Along" Film
Featuring the American Ballet Theater, HipLet Ballerinas, Kandi Reign and Bulletrun Parkour.
A newly released behind the scenes video of rag & bone‘s fashion film Why Can’t We Get Along peers into the picture’s complicated inner-workings. The ambitious one-day undertaking culminated in a piece that effortlessly shifts viewpoints scene-by-scene while capturing the intricate movement of stars Ansel Elgort and Kate Mara — accompanied by dancers and freerunners.
Setting the Spring/Summer 2018 collection as the peripheral to the artistic investment, directors Benjamin Millepied, Aaron Duffy and Bob Partington with cinematographer Darius Khondji were tasked with creating an experience that could visually represent the different perspectives that the audience possess. Eschewing dialogue and traditional movie motifs, the innovative camera rigs of Tony Hill were left to carry the experimental narrative. With Hill aboard, computer modeling the set and ensemble allowed the crew to choreograph the camera motion with the sway of the cast to a score produced by Thom Yorke.
