This Week's Releases Marks the Return of Classics and Welcomes New Collabs

A selection of retros, collaborations and reworked classics.

By //Footwear

Once upon a time, long before the hype pervaded popular culture, the major sneaker brands would typically deliver one, maybe two coveted releases a month, with a heavy emphasis on storytelling. Nowadays, it’s commonplace to see these different labels ditch the ‘who, what, where, when and how,’ and instead drop multiple pairs of heat in just one weekend. A welcomed dilemma for most.

With that said, we continue our weekly roundup of the most sought after silhouettes for the week, hoping to make your ‘cop or drop’ decision as easy as possible. Check out the list below and chime in on the styles you’ll be picking up.

Nike Air Force 1 Low “Hong Kong”

Nike

Release Price: $130 USD, available via select Nike retailers and Nike SNKRS

Making its debut back in 2001, the coveted Nike Air Force 1 ”Hong Kong” is back, welcoming a full-grain tumbled leather along its entire forest green upper, burgundy accents and a white midsole. Its lateral and medial Swoosh logos are also treated in white, while orange gives it one final pop on the insoles.

Nike Flyknit Trainer “Triple Black”

Nike

Release Date: February 23
Release Price: $150 USD, available via select Nike Running retailers and Nike SNKRS

Nike’s “Triple Black” Flyknit Trainer will return ahead of the Spring/Summer season. The tonal color scheme covers its Flyknit upper and Lunarlon cushioning, while “Anthracite” is subtly placed on the lateral and medial Swoosh logos.

Following a teaser shared via social media, Palace has joined forces with Reebok on three special Workout models. The collaborative pack is geared to launch in black, white and grey, all featuring orange, green and blue accents.

Air Jordan 1 “Bred Toe”

Nike

Release Date: February 24
Release Price: $160 USD, available via select Jordan Brand retailers and Nike SNKRS

Jordan Brand continues the Air Jordan 1‘s legacy by paying homage to two memorable colorways of the past. Dubbed the “Bred Toe,” this iteration combines the “Bred” and “Black Toe” versions, breathing new life into Michael Jordan’s first signature model.

Nike Air Max 98 “Gundam”

Nike

Release Date: February 24
Release Price: $160 USD, available via select Nike Sportswear retailers and Nike SNKRS

Nike celebrates the 20th anniversary of the Air Max 98 with a new “Gundam” colorway, set to drop ahead of this year’s Air Max Day. Its full-length, University Red Air Max unit steals the show, while the layered upper features Royal Blue, White and Navy Blue. Branding is kept to a minimum, thanks to smaller Swoosh logos on the lateral side and toe, while “AIR” is stamped on each heel.

size? x asics GEL-LYTE-OG

size?

Release Date: February 24
Release Price: Approximately $125 USD, avilable via size? webstore

size? and ASICS are back with another collaboration to follow up a previous baseball-themed drop. The two reunite to place their own spin on the GEL-LYTE OG, with inspiration from the artist Hokusai. Dubbed “36 Views,” its color palette pays homage to the Great Wave through its water-resistant suede and ripstop paneling. Its usage of pastel pink is a nod to Japan’s cherry blossoms, while the deep blue serves as a reflection of the sea.
