Poor iPhone X Sales Reduce Samsung OLED Production
They’re producing less than half its predicted units.

Samsung is tasked with creating the OLED panels used in Apple’s iPhone X, but according to sources, its display division is reducing production on the tech due to its low sales. It’s been reported that Samsung now plans to cover 20 million or fewer iPhone X devices for this quarter, about half of the 45-50 million units expected to move by the end of March.
Samsung has yet to confirm production targets for the April-June period. Last year, Apple reportedly ordered 70 million OLED panels from Samsung. Apple’s $1,000 USD price tag and new notch design for its flagship phone are thought to be the reason for the lackluster sales, although the heavy cost allowed the company to claim all-time high earnings for Q1 2018.
