Kazuyuki Kumagai Showcases Loose Layers and Chunky Sneakers for Fall/Winter 2018

Comfort is king.

Kazuyuki Kumagai continues reworking menswear staples into new casual iterations for Fall/Winter 2018. Following up on his Spring/Summer 2018 collection, wardrobe essentials like Chesterfield coats and staple shirts are exaggerated, granted extra comfort through wide cuts and cozy textiles.

The Attachment designer utilizes his namesake label to issue clothing for daily wear, lifestyle clothing that plays well with a variety of tastes. Fall/Winter 2018 maintains Kazuyuki Kumagai’s emphasis upon relaxed cuts, with baggy trousers complementing furry knits and slouchy — yet trim — blazers. Colors range from earth tones to rich navy hues, with plenty of monotone items and unexpected pops of color, like red striping on wide black pants. Kumagai’s favored leather jackets also return, offering slim cuts in contrast to the carrot-cut pants and louche turtlenecks, while other notable outerwear includes down-filled coats, hooded overcoats, and sleek jackets with hidden plackets.

Expect the collection to hit Kazuyuki Kumagai’s web store and stockists in the coming months. Elsewhere, UNDERCOVER diffusion line JohnUNDERCOVER issues similarly streamlined takes on wardrobe staples, elevated by bold graphics.
