BAPE Reworks Tradition With Souvenir Hanten Jacket
Satin detailing, BAPE style.
Following up on Dover Street Market’s collaborative “Year of the Dog” T-shirts and the label’s LA-exclusive capsule release, BAPE returns with a revised Japanese hanten jacket. Blending the wide, cropped sleeves and collarless design with stadium jacket-like hems, the result is a classic piece revised with quintessential BAPE styling.
Offered in navy satin, the lightweight jacket is outfitted with a variety of reworked details. Embroidery appears around the jacket, with stylized BAPE branding accenting a front pocket and the back’s contrasting Dark Ape detailing. Darker lining and hems frame the shiny outer, while striped sleeve and neck detailing adds a sporty, boxing-style flair and a waist tie allows for easy wear. “World Gone Mad” and “1993 to 2093” detailing accents the neck branding.
Keep an eye on BAPE’s website for the February 17 drop. Recently, we took a closer look at the label’s collaborative mastermind JAPAN gear, dropping soon at its new LA outpost.
