Kilo Kish Believes Creatives Should Stand Their Ground
She also discusses meeting Vince Staples and high art in music.
For the latest entry in our Conversations With interview series, HYPEBEAST linked up with Kilo Kish to discuss infusing high art and music together, her friendship with Vince Staples and standing your ground as a woman and a creative in music.
“I think sometimes with women people don’t, like, they think that [women's] minds can be changed a lot,” she says. “It’s like, ‘Oh, maybe she doesn’t mean that maybe she wants this.’ and I’m like, ‘No, I wanted exactly what I asked for.” Kish goes on to add, “You really have to stand your ground with things and I think that’s something that all creatives have to deal with.”
Back in Septemeber, Kilo Kish made her return with her new project Mothe, following up her 2016 debut studio album Reflections In Real Time. The genre-blending EP is 6-songs long, features no guest appearances and a solid listen from front to back.
