Looks like Kanye West will be going up against JAY-Z in the music streaming industry. According to The Blast, West is set to launch a new music streaming platform called “Yeezy Sound.” The online news outlet also obtained a trademark document, adding more concrete evidence to Yeezy’s plan.

The documents show Kanye requesting a trademark on November 2nd of 2017, with purposes that include “streaming of music, audio, images, video and other multimedia content over the internet.” Though the whole process is still in the beginning stages — and if the papers are legitimate — this could mean big things for the industry.

JAY-Z and Kanye have some beef stemming back to the release of Yeezy’s Life of Pablo where he still claims that JAY has not paid him the proper amount of royalties from JAY’s streaming service, TIDAL, which total up to $3.5 million USD. The two also haven’t been on speaking terms since Kanye’s rant back in 2016.
