Tony Hawk Officially Joins Lakai
“I have been drafted … thanks to extreme nepotism.”
Skateboarding legend Tony Hawk joins his son Riley in teaming up with Lakai.
Joking on Twitter that he linked up with Lakai due to “extreme nepotism,” the 49-year-old icon shared a vignette announcing his latest major move. In the official clip from Lakai and Hawk, the latter can be seen answering questions in a mock press conference. “The best thing about having a pro skater for a son is that you can ride his coat tails right through your midlife crisis,” reads a previous quote from Hawk. In recent months, Tony Hawk was also featured in the new “The Flare” video from Lakai. Since parting ways with the inactive Adio, Hawk has been without an official shoe sponsor and partner; his son, Riley Hawk, already has his own shoe with Lakai.
You can take a look at Tony Hawk’s official Twitter announcement below, and check out the video of his Lakai “press conference” above. Earlier this year, Lakai teamed up with Krooked Skateboards for a new capsule collection.
