The Weeknd Links up With Marvel to Announce ‘Starboy’ Comic Book
Is it a bird? Is it a plane?

This weekend at New York Comic Con, The Weeknd and Marvel unveiled their new joint project that the singer has been hinting at in recent weeks. Having posted a preview image of the first cover last week, the XO frontman was in New York for the main event and was found mingling with fans and signing autographs.
The idea has clearly been in the pipeline for quite some time. Keen fans will remember that last November, during an interview with Zane Lowe, Abel spoke about how he wanted to create a comic of his alter ego — namesake of the new album. The Weeknd was quoted saying “I guess this is the fourth chapter. He’s a character that we created… he’s a cool, dope character that makes appearances a lot on the album… he’s a more braggadocious character that we all have inside of us.”
This isn’t the first time that Marvel has teamed up with a hip-hop artist. In the past, the group has worked with the likes of Nas, Dr. Dre and Missy Elliot.
The Staryboy comic book will be hitting shelves in 2018. Keep your eyes peeled for more information about the exact release date.
Be sure to check out the new Justice League trailer that was also premiered at Comic Con.
