ASICS‘ GEL-Mai silhouette has seen a few seasonal revisions already, including a knit mid-top and a GORE-TEX-infused edition. For Spring/Summer 2018, the Japanese company unveiled yet another revision, completely rehauling the sneaker for warm weather.
Other than the asymmetric lacing and dual pull tabs, this new GEL-Mai bears little in common with its predecessors; the latter’s knit upper is replaced with a sleek nubuck upper in line with contemporary runners, complete with a new midsole shape. Ortholite and fuzeGEL infusions keep the insole and heel supported while a new lacing system ensures a snug fit.
Available in grey, black, and blue, look for the new GEL-Mai to launch through ASICS Tiger stockists like atmos on February 9. In other reworked runner news, Nike’s Shox Gravity finally has a general release date.
