Here's Where to Buy the Most Anticipated Sneaker Releases in Europe This Weekend
Tyler’s shoe drops and there’s an abundance of Nike’s on show.

While the world of sneaker drops isn’t one that shows any signs of slowing down in the near or even distant future, some weeks are still bigger and brighter than others. This is one of those weeks. And within the vast array of options on offer this week, one thing in particular sticks out: a definite slant towards retro shoes. In fact, only a few new models have made it onto our list this week.
And while there’s no shortage of hyped drops from other companies, this week definitely belongs to the Swoosh. But before we get to Nike, it’s only right that we should nod to Tyler, The Creator’s Converse collab, reworking the familiar One Star in a subtle manner that’s captured a lot of attention. Meanwhile, in the world of adidas, the brand’s unlikely collaboration with Henry Poole and Size? is its main draw this week, while Patta and Diadora continue their longstanding partnership.
Nike’s release list, however, is huge this week and — while mostly dropping retros — they’ve also thrown in some new colorway updates in the mix. So, if you’re on the lookout for a pair of VaporMaxes, today is your lucky day. Luck also makes an appearance if you happen to be a fan of the Air Max 97, Flight Bonafides, Air Zoom Mariah Flyknits or the Nike SB Dunk Highs. And that’s before we mention Nike’s Jordan Brand subsidiary, who continue their aggressive release program at pace. Take a look through our pick of the best shoes out this weekend below.
Nike Air Max 97 “OG White”

Nike
Release Price: £169.95 from Nike
Given that the Nike Air Max 97 is an undisputed cult classic it was really only ever a matter of time before the brand decided to bring it back. The company has been very careful in its reintroduction of the shoe, however, only releasing in very limited quantities to avoid flooding the market. The latest limited drop is this white pair, which would clearly be ideal for the last days of summer.
Jordan Super.Fly 2017 “Instant Fly”

Nike
Release Price: £129.95 from Nike
Designed for Blake Griffin, the “Instant Fly” Jordan is a shape that fans of the brand will be instantly familiar with. While we’re unsure how the success of Griffin’s team will happen without Chris Paul, the one thing that remains a definite is how good his footwear will be. As you’d expect for a regular basketball release, they’re more widely available than some of the Jordan Retro’s, so you won’t have to be so ready with your trigger finger on this one.
Nike SB Zoom Dunk High Elite “The SB Dunk, Remixed”

Nike
Release Price: £114.95 from Nike
Nike SB continues to rework the dunk, this time even injecting the remix element directly into the shoe’s name. This time the brand is keeping it modern, with the added feature of a sock insert to make sure that your feet stay in place. The classic white/red colorway means you’ll be able to pay homage to Jordan while you skate.
Nike Air Max 97 “Midnight Navy”

Nike
Release Price: £139.95 from Nike
The second Air Max 97 drop of the week that’s managed to make its way onto our list is this sleek “Midnight Navy” edition. A great contrast to the white edition, it’ll be perfect for those who think white sneakers are simply too risky to wear day-to-day. These ones are also extremely limited, so if you want a pair then you’re going to need to be quick — a number of sizes have sold out already.
Nike VaporMax “Copper Grey”

Nike
Release Price: £169.95 from Nike
Much like the Air Max 97, Nike has been slowly releasing limited editions of the VaporMax since its release. There’s been a few versions dropped this week, but the standout for us is this “Copper Grey” shoe. While the drops have been consistent, the sheer novelty of the new shape still hasn’t worn off — a fact which speaks to just how good the VaporMax is.
Golf le Fleur x Converse One Star
Release Price: £80 from Converse
The most anticipated drop of the week (that doesn’t come from Nike) is definitely this new collaboration from Converse and Tyler, The Creator. Releasing under Tyler’s brand name, Golf Le Fleur, the collection’s pastel hues blend perfectly with the light and airy feel of Flower Boy. As interest for this is high, it’s highly likely that this one will have already sold out by the time you’ve seen this article, so keep your fingers crossed for that restock.
size? x Henry Poole x adidas Originals NMD_R2

size?
Release Price: £150 from Size?
The second part of the most unexpected collaboration of the year gets its release this week, courtesy of adidas Originals. The brand with the three stripes has come in strong on part two, dropping the chalk stripe NMD_R2 from its Henry Poole collab, modelled after the fabric used on Poole’s suiting. The end result is a distinct shoe that stands out but also remains surprisingly wearable with a number of ‘fits.
Nike Air Zoom Mariah Flyknit

Nike
Release Price: £129.95 from Nike
The Air Zoom Mariah continues its triumphant return in Flyknit form – this time coming in a black on white sole colorway. The retro shape has the advantage of feeling pleasantly familiar, taking a simple silhouette and updating it with Nike’s flagship technology. It’s the ideal shoe for those who think the VaporMax is a step too far.
Nike Flight Bonafide

Nike
Release Date: £119.95 from Nike
Nike’s Flight Bonafide has always been a shoe you’ll either love or hate. If you find yourself on the hate side of things, feel free to check the next item on our list — if not, you’ll be pleased to hear that this time the futuristic shoe is available in a blue and black Flyknit upper, with matching sole panels to the side. Those who enjoy bold styles will be a fan of this drop.
ASICS Tiger GEL-LYTE Mid x Patta

Solebox
Release Date: €140 from Solebox
Patta and ASICS have teamed up once again, this time reworking a pair of GEL-LYTE Mids. The shoes are typically Patta – using unorthodox colors, such as the purple upper panels and a brown leather brand logo, on top of a signature ASICS shape. Keeping in theme with both brands histories and the overarching theme of the shoes released this week, this is another retro style drop.
Air Jordan 5 “Cement”

Nike
Release Date: August 5
Release Price: £169.95 from Nike
Jordan Brand’s retro release for this week is the Air Jordan 5 “Cement” editions. The brand, which has steadily been dropping new versions of its retro shapes for a considerate amount of time now, has kept it simple this week. While basketball styles overall haven’t been performing as well as they used to, this one will keep the collectors interested.
