R2-D2 Replica Sells at Auction for $2.7 Million USD
A hefty price for the loveable ‘Star Wars’ robot.

An anonymous buyer at a Profiles by History auction in Calabasas just purchased a full-scale replica of R2-D2 from the Star Wars franchise for a whopping $2.75 million USD. According to reports, the model comes packed with all of the pre-recorded sounds made by R2-D2 in the prequels, including his all of his beeps, whistles, and hilarious screams. Other items auctioned off at the event include two signed Bruce Lee photographs that sold for $18,000 USD and Luke Skywalker’s original lightsaber for $390,000 USD.
In other Star Wars news, Ron Howard has announced that he’s stepping up and will be replacing Phil Lord and Chris Miller of the standalone Han Solo film that is set to come out sometime in 2018.
